Color temperature shapes how a space feels before a guest notices anything else about it. Lobbies and lounges usually read best around 2700–3000K, close to candlelight, because it flatters skin tones and softens hard architectural lines.
Corridors and back-of-house areas can run slightly cooler, closer to 3500K, since the priority there is clarity and safety rather than atmosphere. Guest rooms tend to work best when they mix both: warm ambient light for evening use, with a cooler, brighter task light at the desk or mirror.
The mistake we see most often is picking a single temperature for an entire property. Matching the fixture to the function of the room, not just the brand's overall palette, is what makes a hospitality lighting plan feel intentional instead of default.
